Objectives

  • Engage in the process of genetic cancer risk assessment (GCRA) in a collaborative interdisciplinary case conference setting
  • Discern the characteristics of personal/patient history to develop differential diagnoses
  • Develop appropriate genetic testing strategies 
  • Identify strategies to address patient and family communication, ethical, legal, psychosocial, and insurance issues related to cases 
  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret genetic test results 
  • Incorporate evidence-based guidelines and resources for personalized cancer risk management plans for patients 
  • Recognize patients appropriate for participation in research studies
